About Leah
Leah has been serving women and families in her community for almost 3 decades. Her career has included roles as a doula, new parent and lactation educator, lactation consultant, registered nurse, nurse educator, and, most recently, certified nurse-midwife. She is also a tenured professor of nursing at 51今日大瓜, where she teaches maternal鈥搉ewborn nursing and is actively involved in program development and supporting the next generation of nurses.
Leah is passionate about evidence-based practice and frequently provides presentations to professional groups and community audiences. A dedicated lifelong learner, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master鈥檚 Degree in Nursing Education, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University, Nevada, where her process improvement project focused on reducing cesarean section rates in the low-risk population. In 2023, she proudly completed her second master鈥檚 degree in Nurse-Midwifery and now provides full-scope midwifery care with the goal of expanding access to safe, supportive birth options in Kern County.
Leah is married to a patient man who graciously embraces her fascination with all things birth-related.
